Where can I book walking tours?

How long is each walking tour?
Each walking tour varies in time and distance. Please see our Tours page for approximate durations for each tour.
How do I redeem my ticket?
Please bring your electronic confirmation to the start of the tour.
Does the tour continue during bad weather?
Tours will operate during a variety of weather conditions, so please make sure to dress accordingly so you are prepared to be outside for the duration of the tour. However, if the weather becomes hazardous (such as thunder, ice, etc.), we will cancel the tour no later than 2 hours prior to departure time.
What is parking like for each tour?
Washington, D.C. can be a bit tricky when it comes to parking. While you can certainly find some parking garages and street parking near the areas where our tours begin, we recommend that you take public transportation or car/taxi services, when possible. Please make sure to build in some time for traffic, rush hour, and the occasional Metro delay.
Can I contact my guide on the day of the tour?

Can I change the date of my walking tour?
If you have signed up for a public walking tour, you may change the date of the tour up to 24 hours before departure. While availability on another tour is not guaranteed, you may sign up for any available slots for another public tour.
Can I cancel my tour?
All public tours are refundable until 24 hours before the tour departure. Private tours and experience have individualized cancellation policies. Please refer to your specific tour details for cancellation policies.
Do all public tours require walking?
Accessibility and inclusion are important us. While our tours require the ability to travel from one tour stop to another, we want to ensure we are accessible to as many individuals as possible. If you have a question or concern about accessibility, or how to make an event/tour accessible for your group specifically, please contact us directly at MeanderingMap@gmail.com. Is gratuity required?
We appreciate you inquiring about gratuities. They are never expected, but they are appreciated if you enjoyed your experience.

Does my personalized tour include the purchase of tickets and dinner reservations?
While the base cost for the tour does not include the purchase of tickets or restaurant reservations, we are able to arrange for both during the personalized tour planning!
Does my personalized itinerary include travel or accommodation?
No. You are responsible for airfare, transportation, and accommodations.
Are Events refundable?
Often our history events include food, drink or access to specific sites. Accordingly, to be able to plan accurately, our history events are non-refundable.

There are so many fun ways to celebrate, experience, and enjoy D.C. without leaving your home! For example, check out the Go-Go Cafe and Museum YouTube here. Check out virtual D.C. museum programs such as the Smithsonian Natural History Museum’s Science How, explore online art courses with children from the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and check out the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian YouTube channel for talks, performances, and history!
